Liza Jones received her J.D. from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2014. Ms. Jones graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Psychology, English and Honors from the University of North Dakota. While in law school, Ms. Jones participated in numerous clinical programs and volunteered over 100 hours of pro bono legal work, focusing on the fields of child welfare, environmental and family law. Concurrently with her scholastic employment at the Disability Law Center (DLC), Ms. Jones worked as a law clerk for the Office of the Guardian ad Litem and the Utah Office of the Attorney General, Child Protection Division. Additionally, Ms. Jones was a 2013 recipient of the Bergstrom Child Welfare Law Summer Fellowship and received training from the University of Michigan Law School on applying an interdisciplinary approach in the field of child protection.

Prior to her work at Lokken & Associates, Ms. Jones was the Access and Rights Attorney at Utah's Disability Law Center. At the DLC, Ms. Jones represented individuals who had experienced disability-based discrimination in higher education, employment and their daily activities. As a result, she has significant experience with issues relating to the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Ms. Jones is a member in good standing of the Utah State Bar; the U.S. District Court, District of Utah; and the Utah Supreme Court. Ms. Jones has argued before the Utah Court of Appeals. Her areas of practice include parental defense, child welfare and family law - specifically kinship custodial actions, adoptions and divorce proceedings.
